Build the workout once. Exercise runs it for you.

Exercise is the workout tracker that runs your routine for you. Build any strength, circuit, HIIT, or mobility workout once — then train hands-free while timers and rest count down on their own and every set, rep, and weight is logged automatically. No mental math, no watching the clock.

Guided workouts

The app runs the workout. You just train.

Timers start and advance on their own, from step to step. Rest countdowns are handled at every level — between sets, exercises, or circuit rounds — and every completed set, rep, and weight is captured as you go. Change reps, weights, or duration mid-workout without losing your place, and without touching the saved template.

StrengthSets, reps, and weights — with rest counted down for you.
Circuits & HIITInterval rounds advance automatically, with per-round tracking.
Holds & mobilityTimed stretches and planks, with rest between reps.
Workout Mode
Beta

One exercise at a time, front and center

Workout Mode strips the session down to what you need right now: the current exercise, a full-screen countdown ring, and how far you have left to go. Swipe to move between exercises, or let it advance on its own as timers and rest finish.

  • A single, full-screen countdown ring for the active timer or rest
  • Swipe between exercises, or let the workout advance itself
  • Running progress — elapsed time and exercises completed
  • Everything still logs automatically in the background

Workout Mode is in beta and still evolving. You can turn it on per workout, and there is a feedback link right inside the app.

FAQ

Direct answers

What kind of workouts is Exercise built for?

Exercise is built for self-designed workouts with real structure. You can mix sets, reps, timed holds, distance, notes, rest between reps, and circuit blocks in the same workout template instead of flattening everything into a generic timer or checklist.

Can I change a workout while I am logging it?

Yes. You can adjust reps, timing, weights, notes, rest, and even the structure of the session while you log. The active workout stays flexible without forcing you to rewrite the original template first.

Does Exercise sync across my devices?

Yes. Workouts and workout logs sync across your devices through iCloud, so your templates, routines, and history follow you between iPhone and iPad.

Is there an Apple Watch app?

Yes. The watchOS companion app runs full workouts from your wrist — timed holds, sets, rest, and circuits — mirrors active sessions with your iPhone in real time, and saves Watch sessions to Apple Health automatically. Complications give you one-tap access to pinned and quick-start workouts.

How does AI workout generation work?

Exercise generates workouts from a plain-language prompt fully on device. Describe what you want, then review, refine, and either log the workout immediately or save it as a reusable template. While editing, AI-recommended exercises can be quick-added with one tap.

Can I share my workout history with a trainer?

Yes. Search your logs by workout name, exercise name, or date range, then export the results as a PDF to hand to a trainer or physical therapist. Full JSON export is available for backups, with import on Premium for moving data.

What gets shared with Apple Health?

When you enable HealthKit and choose to save a workout, Exercise writes workout timing, activity type, measured energy when available, optional effort data, and minimal sync metadata. Exercise names, sets, reps, and notes are not written to Apple Health.

How can I join the Exercise TestFlight beta?

You can join the beta through TestFlight. Install Apple's TestFlight app if prompted, open the invite, tap Accept, then install Exercise from TestFlight.
